The Visitor
My mother told me this not too long ago, though it happened about ten years ago. When my cousin was 17 or 18, she was in a car crash and died a couple of weeks later in the hospital. She was very close to my dad's sister—our aunt—and used to babysit her kids all the time. The children were no older than four.
Our aunt's house was under construction just before my cousin passed away, and the work continued afterward. One day, while my aunt was at work, she got a phone call from one of the construction workers. He was complaining about a teenage girl who kept showing up at the house, walking around the site. He said she had appeared multiple times over the past couple of weeks.
My aunt asked for a description, thinking she might know the girl from the neighborhood. Sure enough, the description perfectly matched my cousin who had died just weeks before: long brown hair, a red baseball cap, denim dungarees, and a white jacket.
When my aunt got home, she showed the workers a picture of my cousin. They all agreed it was the girl they had seen walking around the site.
This story really freaked me out when I heard it. Our family was never one to believe in anything paranormal, and nothing like this had ever happened to us bef
ore.
